Botanical MatteHair Cream

A hair cream built like skincare.

A scalp-safe styling cream led by aloe-vera juice at a real, weighed 38%, with shea butter and argan and jojoba oils. The matte finish comes from arrowroot starch and kaolin clay — minerals that absorb oil — so hair feels worked, not coated. It holds, washes out clean, and leaves no buildup. Twenty-five ingredients, full INCI published.

The matte system

Matte from minerals, not a silicone film.

Most styling creams fake a matte look with a silicone coating that sits on the strand and builds up over washes. Meria mattifies with arrowroot starch and kaolin clay — minerals that absorb surface oil and work with your hair instead of sealing it. It absorbs completely and washes out with regular shampoo. No clarifying treatments, no buildup.

How to use

Apply a small amount to damp or dry hair. Warm between palms, work through lengths and ends. Style as desired. No rinse needed — it’s scalp-safe from roots to ends.

For external use only. Patch test if you have a known tree-nut allergy (contains argan + sweet almond oils).

Questions, answered plainly.

Can I use this on my scalp?

Yes. It’s formulated with skin-grade ingredients, so it can go right at the roots. The scalp is skin — Meria built the formula that way.

What does it actually feel like?

Light and buttery. On damp hair it melts in almost immediately. After it absorbs, the hair feels genuinely softer — not coated-soft. Actually soft.

What does it smell like?

A whisper. A trace essential-oil note — furocoumarin-free bergamot, cedarwood, peppermint, together under 0.3% — that fades after styling. No synthetic “Parfum,” and every scent ingredient is named on the label.

Does it cause buildup?

No. Unlike silicone products that coat the cuticle, this absorbs completely and washes out with regular shampoo. No clarifying treatments needed.

What hair types is it for?

All of them. Body without weight for fine hair, smoothing for thick hair, definition for waves and curls.

Will it last through swimming?

Yes. It absorbs rather than coating, so the softness survives water — chlorine and salt don’t strip it the way they strip silicone.
